Some Edisto Island Pictures.

I went to Edisto Island and Botany Bay in South Carolina at the beginning of last summer. Julie and I drove for five hours from Atlanta in a camper top covered truck with no AC. Mossy trees lined the drive to Botany Bay, where trees grew out of the ocean (actually, they were dead and covered in coral--but they were still coming out of the ocean at high tide).

There were lots of conch shells everywhere and lots of birds and dolphins. We didn't have a lot of money but that didn't matter, we had enough for gas, peaches, peanut butter sandwiches, and shitty beer. I never want to grow up if this is what being young is about.

Julie listening to the ocean while sitting next to the ocean. Really, this is the picture I was so excited about when I got the film developed because I knew how beautiful it would be.

Our camping spot. The water inched up from the swamp area and we watched the sunset, read books, and drank beer. We camped on a dirt road instead of a campsite. It was nice.

Low tide. At high tide, people would swim to the branches to jump off into the ocean.

A picture of Botany Bay from eating peaches in the water with Julie. Carrying my camera in the ocean was a goofy sight, I bet.
